Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Alpha Duck Ltd ("AlphaDuck", "we"), the company behind Moto Planet (motoplanet.co.uk) and Bike Luggage (bikeluggage.co.uk), collects and uses your personal data. We are the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may process: your name and contact details (when you contact us or subscribe to marketing); your message content (when you use our chat assistant or contact form); and limited technical data such as your IP address and browser type, used to keep the site secure and working. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
We use contact details to respond to enquiries (legitimate interest), to send marketing emails where you have subscribed (consent — you can withdraw it any time), and to operate and secure the website (legitimate interest). Messages you send our chat assistant are used only to answer your question about products, fitment and orders; they are processed within our own systems and are not used to train third-party AI models.
Who we share it with
We use trusted processors to run the service — including cloud hosting (Google Cloud, UK/EU regions), our review provider (Judge.me) and, for the chat assistant, an AI provider that processes your question to generate a reply. We never sell your personal data. Purchases are completed on the Moto Planet and Bike Luggage stores, which have their own privacy notices.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Chat messages and security logs are retained for a short period and then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email orders@motoplanet.co.uk. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
